This is it!!! We have launched our long awaited writing campaign to the cast!!! The writing campaign to Tracy Tormé was a success. Although only four people have written to date, Tracy personaly called me and thanked me for getting in touch with him. It doesn't look like he will return to the show, but he seems to be willing to answer our questions about anything Sliders related!
NEWS: The rumor that Sci-Fi was considering picking up Robert K. Weiss' movie didn't pan out. It seems that Weiss wants to go all-out with this one and put it on the big screen! A story is currently in development, and Weiss seems very serious about this. So far, indications are that this feature will not continue from where the show leaves off. Instead, it will be something "way cooler" than that. For further information about the movie deal and commentary, click here. A new strategy: Of course, we the fans of the series still want a wrap-up. Here is a new strategy that I think may better our chances of making it a reality. Sci-Fi will be introducing some new shows next year; the shows that supposedly made it monetarily impossible for them to renew Sliders for a sixth season. It is my prediction that most (if not all) of these shows will fail in the ratings, and the Sci-Fi Channel's overall numbers will drop. In my opinion, this is the time to strike - when Sci-Fi hits rock bottom. Midseason, we will flood the channel with yet another barrage of letters, reminding them that Sliders was consistently in the top two of Sci-Fi's original programming. Reminding them of how much better (and more original) Sliders was than these new shows (such as The Invisible Man), we will suggest a Sliders Scinema/Scini-Series Original as something that would give Sliders fans what they want as well as boost ratings. They received a huge response from the cancellation and supposedly wanted to renew the show then... if bad ratings force them to think of something, this may be their answer! I will update this section when I think the time is right. Here are the addresses, for your reference: |
