Guess what? According to this guy, the one aspect of S3 that that would've actually looked good as a cheap CGI graphic... was for real.http://pages.prodigy.com/RenardRouge/6_20_97.htm

I'm watching that Fox show Sliders while I'm typing this. If you haven't seen it yet, the show's premise is just like Quantum Leap, except that it is 4 people jumping into different dimensions. In this particular episode, everything is similar to Ancient Egypt. Every once in a while, they'll cut over to a shot of a large blue pyramid towering over some trees. That pyramid is the state-of-the-art basketball arena at Long Beach State, so naturally, I have to laugh. Ah, memories. The practice room I shared with the rest of the tuba/euphonium players was right under the Pyramid, so when the room was in use, I'd grab a chair and a music stand and just park it right in front of the building. Out in the open, listening to the horn blasts reverb off the blue plexiglass... watching the reflections on the large glass doors shiver when I played double forte.

My quick fast-forward through the episode yielded only one such blue pyramid: in the teaser, directly after Wade's glance at the mailbox.More information from http://www.doshinmartialarts.com/NIKKEI97.HTM:

The Pyramid at Cal. State, Long Beach is to die for! It opened November 30, 1994 ... It is the largest space frame building in North America. The Pyramid is 345 feet on each of its four sides, at its perfectly square base, and stands 18 stories tall (or 192 feet high). It has one-of-a-kind cantilevered seats on moveable platforms, each weighing 81 tons!!! Each section of seats takes 25 minutes to raise and 15 minutes to lower. The floor is made of beechwood and is 39,000 square feet. The Pyramid currently seats 5,000 people, and upon expansion will seat 7,500 guests!!
