A HurriKain's Wrath

A very bruised TemporalFlux was running down a street as fast as his feet could take him. An equally bruised HunterD_Raven and Brand_S followed him closely behind. They were being pursued by a royally pissed off HurriKain. "Would you hurry it up with the timer, TF?" Hunter yelled. "It's almost over! S, if we survive this, you're dead!" "I swear to God, I didn't know!" S replied with HurriKain nearly close enough to catch him. "I warned you not to do it!" Hunter shouted. HurriKain jumped and tackled S to the ground. He grabbed S by the throat and started choking him, repeatedly slamming S's head to the ground. "I swear I didn't mean anything by it!" S gasped. HurriKain was not in a mood to hear him out. Twenty feet away, the vortex opened. S desperately punched HurriKain in the jaw and broke loose. He tore for the portal and dived in. HurriKain gave pursuit and jumped at the portal, but the vortex closed and he found himself kissing the tailgate of a 1987 Ford pickup truck. At the other end of the vortex, Hunter and TF stood waiting. As S shot out of the vortex and slammed into the dirt, the two proceeded to kick him repeatedly for a good two minutes. "It's not my fault!" S finally groaned when the beating stopped. "Not your fault?" TF shouted. "NOT YOUR FAULT? YOU IDIOT!" "How was I supposed to know that I cheated on her?" "We told you about your double when you called us on the phone." Hunter said. "You did?" "OF COURSE WE DID!" TF and Hunter shouted in unison. TF and Hunter then began recalling to S the entire story of the previous world, including what S had told them. It had started simply enough. The three piled out of the vortex and crashed into the lawn of a normal suburban household. After they stood and cleaned themselves off, a beautiful young woman looked out the window and saw them. Immediately, she ran out of the house and gave S a hug that nearly required the Jaws of Life to release him from. The three sliders, obviously surprised, couldn't figure out who the woman was. Moments later, HurriKain came walking out of the house. S pried himself free of the woman's grasp and walked over to him. "Hi, S," HurriKain said. "Today's the big day, eh?" "Uh, yeah," S replied, "It, uh, sure is." HurriKain turned to the other sliders. "Friends of yours?" he asked S. "Oh, yeah," S replied. "I'd like you to meet TemporalFlux and HunterD_Raven." The two sliders gave their greetings. "Who's that?" Hunter asked, pointing to the woman who had attached herself to S's arm. "That's my sister," HurriKain replied. "TsuNami." "Whoa!" TF looked at TsuNami. She looked absolutely mad about S. "You see, S and Tsu are..." HurriKain was about to explain something when Tsu pulled S towards a car that was parked nearby. They got in and sped off. "They're what?" TF asked. "Engaged." HurriKain finished. Both Hunter and TF's jaws dropped as far as they could drop. "Oh boy!" Hunter said. "Engaged?" TF asked. "Engaged." TF turned to Hunter and spoke quietly to him. "You do realize the chances of something screwing up here are astronomical!" "Oh yeah!" Hunter replied. "Where are they going now?" TF asked. "The rings they ordered are finally ready. They're going to the jewelry store to pick them up." A small black car pulled up to the curb. A differently dressed S jumped out and walked over to the group. "Oh shit," TF said. "S?" HurriKain said confused. "Where's Tsu?" "What are you talking about? I came to pick her up!" "No, you just left, your clothes were different, but you just left for the jewelry store in her car." S2 was befuddled. "Uh, no I didn't." TF cleared his throat, catching the attention of the doubles. "Uh, I might be able to explain this. Could we step inside?" In the fifteen minutes that followed, TF showed them the timer and explained everything. "That's cool!" S2 replied. "Where'd you get the idea for that?" "A television show." Before S2 and HurriKain could react, the phone rang. HurriKain picked it up. "Hello? OK, hold on a second." He passed the phone to Hunter. "It's your S," HurriKain explained. Hunter took the phone. "What's up, S?" "How much time before the slide?" Hunter looked at the timer. "About fifty minutes. Why?" "I'm calling from a jewelry store Tsu took me to. There's a really hot chick in here and I was going to talk to her." Hunter jumped out of his seat. "WHAT?" "I know, but maybe I can get her to call my double..." "S, no, you do NOT want to do that!" "What harm could it be?" S asked. "Hold on. That girl's leaving the store. I've got to go. I promise I'll make it back in time." "S? S? S! You idiot! Your double's engaged to..." the phone went dead as Hunter tried to tell him. "Oh fuck!" "What is it, Hunter?" TF asked. The phone rang again. HurriKain took the phone from Hunter and answered it. "Hello? Tsu? What's wrong?" Hunter closed his eyes and started repeating "Shit!" over and over. HurriKain quickly became angry as he listened to her sister crying on the phone." "Just come home," HurriKain spoke in the phone. "Things will get straightened out." He gave S2 a look of reassurance. "OK? All right, I'll see you soon. Bye." HurriKain pointed towards TF and Hunter menacingly. "You two. You two are dead." "But we didn't do anything!" TF said, backing away. "You brought that perverted double of yours over here!" Hunter stood up and backed up towards TF. "You know, he has a point." TF nodded his head. "Yeah." HurriKain lunged for them and caught TF, pounding him. TF managed to get free and ran out of the house. HK then went after Hunter and beat him a bit. Hunter freed himself and ran after TF. HurriKain followed the pair in hot pursuit. The chase went on for some time, but as TF and Hunter rounded the corner, they saw S walking back from the other direction. Both of them set their sights on S and punched him as they ran by. "Hey!" S turned to the others, already a good distance away. "What was that for?" S turned around and was immediately punched in the face by HurriKain. As S struggled to get free, TsuNami drove by in her car, saw the struggle and threw a can of Dr. Pepper, hitting S in the head. Finally, S pulled himself free and caught up with Hunter and TF, who had stopped to watch S be pummeled. The chase resumed as the three rounded a corner. TF activated the timer and he and Hunter jumped in. S was caught and beaten some more by HK, but managed to make it back to the vortex before it closed. "Does that ring any bells?" TF asked. "You know," S said, "That really explains a lot." Hunter stood up and in front of S. "Word of advice." He unsheathed his sword. "S, don't you ever, and I mean EVER, do that again." Hunter held the blade to S's throat. "How could I possibly do that again, Hunter? That was a one in ten million chance that that happened." Hunter lowered his sword. "Good point." He raised his sword again. "But if the same situation ever comes up again..."
