How Sliders Could Easily End
by Slider120

Just have Sliders copy off of Star Trek: Voyager like they did with the Sliders fifth season episode Dust and copy Voyagers series finale,

>>> Why would "Sliders" want to copy off of "Voyager," the most unpopular series incarnation of the "Trek" franchise yet? Because "Dust" has made it to the top of so many fans' best episode lists?

by having someone from the future return to the past to prevent their first slide. Maybe an older and darker Rembrandt

>>> His body darkens with age.

meets his younger self when he exits the wormhole which arrives on the real Earth Prime who has just come from the seer world.

>>> Wow! Earth Prime was on the Seer World all along! No wonder our sliders couldn't find it!

The older Rembrandt could explain that he's been sliding for 10 or more years

>>> Or maybe just 10 or more minutes. Hey, is it getting darker in here?

and if they continue to keep sliding, Diana, Mallory and Maggie will die.

>>> Future Rembrandt: But if you don't they'll only be seriously maimed.

The younger Rembrandt could be surprised of this news

>>> Or he could be blasé about the whole thing.

and asks questions of the future which the older self explains all, maybe to include the older Rembrandt saying he is dying from cancer or some disease he contracted from a deadly diseased world.

>>> Planet doctor: This world has scoliosis! Next!

The older Rembrandt could say that they could easily return to the past, either to before the first slide or before the sliders left their real earth in Into The Mystic

>>> Oh, I see. So future Rembrandt decides to team up with the Rembrandt who exists just after the events of "The Seer" who unexplainably is not dead, so that BOTH of them can travel into the past and stop sliding from ever happening. Which would leave the audience and the original sliders equally confused.

people of the past with equipment he discovered days ago from his future,

>>> Future Rembrandt: The time travel device was just lying around gathering dust under these old pizza boxes.

and maybe this TV movie could involve the two Rembrandts or just one,

>>> In case the other Rembrandt decides not to tag along? Then why bother having future Rembrandt return to the post-Seer time period at all?

running into Quinn, Wade and Arturo many times,

>>> Do they go back and stop the first slide or not? Is it too much to stick to one premise?

so whoever could save them all.

>>> It turned out to be some guy named Phil from Tuscaloosa. And then his older and darker future self showed up...

And if Rembrandt brings up Maggie, the older Rembrandt could have them land on the pulsar earth

>>> This future Remmy's got a bit of a self-destructive streak.

and run into Dr. Jensen

>>> That's not a very nice thing to do to somebody in a wheelchair.

prior to the sliders arriving, without Maggie and help Jensen with sliding, so he could save his planet's population without the sliders getting involved.

>>> How will he know about the pulsars if it's before the sliders get there? Or is this the previously unexplored 'Smarter Dr. Jariabek' world?

This way, it could leave out Kari Wuhrer, Robert Floyd, or Tembi Locke and still have the original cast.

>>> Oh, sure. Leave out the most available actors.

Or other plans could get worked out.

>>> Preferably better ones than this.

Maybe have Logan help Rembrandt or have them deal with Logan who could be a part of the situation.

>>> Maybe she could help Mallory build a magic wigwam and Arturo invent the push broom on a world plagued by dust bunnies. But that's getting a bit specific.

As for Mallory and Diana, they could just go back to their normal lives just working in a lab with a crazy doctor named Geiger,

>>> Oh yeah, they'd want to go back to work for Geiger. And Wade would be clamoring for the breeder camps.

or have it to where Geiger is eliminated, so Diana and Mallory would be living better lives than they would have been sliding,

>>> They could even start their own magazine: Better Lives Than Sliding!

even though Mallory would still be in a wheelchair, but I doubt anyone really cares about Mallory, so let the man suffer.

>>> Your anti-wheelchair prejudice disgusts me, sir. And how exactly will this be shown without the movie actually featuring Robert Floyd?

I'm sure there are thousands of ways to get Sliders back for a TV Movie

>>> What if there were a thousand different ways to get the Sliders back in a TV Movie? What if all of them sucked beyond belief? And what if you can't find your way to the grammar check?

to resolve the show without having Kari Wuhrer, Tembi Locke and Robert Floyd and still have the original cast in it.

>>> Since Mallory's in a wheelchair, maybe Maggie and Diana should have tragic mishaps too. Or send them to the deadly diseased world, where cancer is apparently a contagious disease. Nobody cares about them. Let them suffer.

And then, for a sequel, older and darker Maggie, Diana and Mallory show up in their flying wheelchairs...
