I was watching "Desert Storm" when I noticed a distinctive C-shaped cloud pattern appeared in two different shots of the vortex. At first I assumed the footage had simply been recycled... then the same pattern started showing up in other episodes (always on the left side of the vortex relative to the screen.)Eventually, I realized that every vortex effect in the first three seasons had been rendered with the same tiling pattern. The difference lays solely in how that texture is coloured and distorted.
Here are a few sightings of the C pattern. More will follow.
