The group is dressed up due to just being at Quinn's and Wade's wedding. Quinn tells the group good luck on getting home and knows that they'll all make it. Wade's double hugs Quinn, and looks to both he and Wade, congratulating them on getting married and hope they have a wonderful life together. Wade thanks her double, telling her that she should consider going after her Quinn when she found him. Remmy hugs both Wade's and Diana's double, telling them to have a great trip. Mallory pulls Maggie off to the side, stating that he wanted to apologize for his attitude about her being impregnated by Colin, and knows she will make a great mother. Maggie thanks Mallory, hugging him and telling him to have a good life and to make it home safely.

Nick and Allison say good-bye to the group, as does Mrs. Mallory. Bennish tells Diana's double of a few new things he put into the timer, and the folder of papers should explain it all. The double thanks Bennish and she hopes with her brain, she should get the others home. Professor Arturo comes from the back yard, to say his good-byes to the group and tells Ryan to find a good home, since he knows how much it would mean to him to find a world to live on. Arturo states that they went through a lot and even becoming good friends which he would never forget; Ryan tells Arturo he was thankful have had him along for the slides they went through, instead of being alone. Diana holds the timer out as it counts down from 7 seconds. The group prepares for the slide, with the vortex soon opening. Joel enters the portal, followed by Ryan, then Wade's double, Mallory, and then Diana waves to the large group and then leaps in backwards with the vortex closing seconds later. Arturo looks to Quinn, stating that it was like passing a torch to a new generation; Quinn tells Arturo he will miss sliding, but really wants to go on with his new life. Wade looks to Quinn, stating that it was time to go back to their guests to cut the cake.

On the next earth, a large group of people are standing around a platform, with a man speaking into a microphone, talking of how he will improve their country if he is elected president. The red colored vortex opens, tossing the sliders out behind the man speaking. They quickly notice their surroundings and soon are being pointed at by guns that are being held by the secret service. The group stand up, with Mallory and Joel attacking two of the secret service agents, as does Wade and Ryan to two others. The sliders rush off and are able to stop in a park nearby. Ryan states that it was a close call, but they should keep going, since there were a few agents heading toward them at that very moment. Wade comments that they better get some time to stop at a clothing store, since she can't run in her long dress and high heels, which she takes off and the group starts running again. As they continue to run, they manage to get away from the agents after they cross a few streets with a traffic jam and cars going in the opposite direction. When reaching the Chancellor Hotel, they now are all in new clothing, slow their pace down with heading to the front desk to check in. When arriving at the room, Diana tells the group they slide in 7 hours and they probably should lay low so they won't make the six o'clock news. Wade states that it was the first for her to land in a very public place, and a lot of people did see them. Mallory plans to go for a beer, asking if anyone else wanted to join him. Joel tells Mallory that they should really stay in the room, since if someone reveals who they are, things would go bad for them. Mallory states that it wouldn't matter, since in the past for the other sliders, they often were seen on television and things still worked out for them. Diana tells Mallory to be careful and return to the room ASAP because she wanted to speak to everyone about a few things.

Down in the bar, Mallory gets a drink, takes a seat in a booth and begins drinking away. Mallory notices the front door and sees a couple of secret service agents enter the hotel. They head to the front desk, with Mallory leaving the bar and returning to the room. Mallory surprises the others, stating that the secret service were in the hotel and they probably should leave. Diana quickly packs up her belongings in the bag she brought along and they quickly take the stairwell into the back alley. Joel states that maybe they should consider going to the beach, since it's a very public and no one would probably find them. The others agree to Joel's idea and they start exiting the alley, when the same agents that entered the hotel see the sliders and start firing their guns. The sliders notice this and start running and soon realize traffic is going the wrong way, making it hard to cross. They keep going down the sidewalk, but Wade gets shot in the leg, knocking her down. Mallory notices Wade on the ground and tells the others to keep going and he would get Wade. A van soon appears near Mallory and Wade with agents exiting the van and holding the two at gun point. Diana, Ryan, and Joel look back, with Ryan stating that they shouldn't have left them. Joel states that as soon as they find a safe place to take a break, they can return for their friends, since Wade would obviously be taken to a hospital.

The three manage to get a taxi with it taking them to a nearby beach. Joel pays the taxi driver and the three exit the taxi, taking off for the main beach. As the taxi driver pulls away, he gets on his radio, stating that he just let out three people described to him on the radio of those at the rally. A voice on the other line asks the location and the taxi driver states that they were dropped off at Zuma Beach, and they probably may head to the homeless people for help.

Joel, Ryan and Diana arrive to a larger part of the beach to notice a lot of tents set up. Joel figures that it could be possible that on this earth, the homeless live on the beach. Ryan states that is what the sign says, with Ryan pointing the sign out not far from their location. The three continue walking to find a place to hide, when a man exits his tent and stopping the three. Ryan looks to him, shocked to see the man was Nick Driskill's double. The double introduces himself and states that he is in need of friends and wants them to be his. Joel asks Nick why he was allowed to camp out on the beach; Nick states that he would explain all as soon as they got inside the tent. Nick enters into the tent first, with the three looking at each other, but Diana states htat it would be a hiding place no one would search. After the four take seats, Nick states that back in 1960, after the white house burned down, the president was homeless and so he moved to the beach in DC with the president then making a law that anyone who was homeless could live at the beach, and so far it's a great life. Joel asks Nick if he wouldn't mind them hiding out in the tent for a few hours, until everything quiets down. Nick tells the three that he doesn't care, since he was going to go swimming and would be back later. Nick exits the tent, and he zips up the tent entrance. Diana looks to Ryan and Joel, stating that they had a bigger problem to deal with and they needed a quick solution. Ryan figures that Wade would have to be taken to a hospital for her injury and they could just find the hospital they were in and get them out of harms way. Joel tells Ryan that it would be hard, since there could be hundreds of hospitals in the area, making it impossible to find them before the slide. Diana looks around Nick's stuff and after opening a bag, she sees a phone book, with her pulling it out and stating the phone book would obviously help them. Diana flips through the pages, looking for hospitals; Diana locates a section for them, noticing they were lucky and that there were only 4 possible hospitals they could be at. Diana tears the page out of the book, and ripping it in parts to hand to Ryan and Joel. Diana states she would cover the 2 farthest out, while they check nearby.

In an undisclosed location, Mallory is unblind folded as well as still tied to a chair with an agent looking straight at him. Mallory asks if Wade was okay, and the agent states that she was going to be dealt with. The agent asks Mallory who he was and what type of technology he had in his possession. Mallory states that he wouldn't talk unless he had an attorney; the agent smacks Mallory in his life side of his face with his gun, stating it was a non laughing matter. Mallory tells the agent that he was part of a team who traveled between parallel worlds, since he escaped his own world, full of hate and torture. The agent asks who had developed such technology; Mallory tells the agent that a friend he barely knew did, but he was killed off during a riot. Mallory states that he needed to see if Wade was okay; the agent states that he had left her and tossed her into an alley way, hoping someone else would find her. The agent tells Mallory that he needs to get the machine that activates such portals, in case Europe was spying on them. Mallory states that he is no spy and feels he is wasting time. The agent starts to tell Mallory that unless he gave up the location of the other, but he gets cut off with the ringing of his cell phone; the agent answers and soon hangs up, telling Mallory that his friends must be stupid yet again, since he just got a location drop on them. The agent exits the interrogation room, leaving Mallory tied to a chair.

Diana, Joel and Ryan take separate routes to the hospitals they needed to cover. Diana arrives at the first one, looking around for police or other such authorities, then she enters into the hospital entrance to find a main desk. She is greeted by a nurse, asking if she could help; Diana inquires about a patient named Wade Welles, and the nurse checks the patient list on the computer, but she is unable to locate Wade. Diana thanks the nurse, stating that she must have been given the wrong hospital address and starts to exit. The nurse looks at Diana in a funny way, then an officer who gets near the desk, tells the officer that the woman she just spoke to looked familiar. The officer looks for Diana, but he doesn't see her; the officer shrugs his shoulders at the nurse and starts walking out the door. Diana, who is looking at a brochure nearby, watches the officer exit, and soon follows. Diana quickly gets out of site, with getting into a taxi nearby, and the driver asks where she needed to go; Diana tells the driver the address to the other hospital, and the driver takes off.

Down in an alley, Wade sits in pain as she screams for help, with an elderly man approaching her. A suburban shows up with four agents exiting the vehicle and heading toward her. One of the agents tells the man that they would take care of her; the man agrees and soon disappears out of the alley. Wade tries to crawl away, but one agent stops her, stating that her friend blabbed, and they were going to deal with her, so she couldn't go to their contact to hide. Anther agent pulls his gun, firing a few bullets into Wade, with her soon lying on the ground, starting to bleed to death, and the agents quickly take off, with no one noticing what they did.

Ryan and Joel do the same with trying to locate Wade, but they are unsuccessful. They meet up with Diana, who exits a taxi when she tells the driver to stop and pays him. Joel and Ryan both tell Diana they didn't have any luck as she tells the two of her unlucky search and they would need to figure out a new plan. Diana tells the two that they slide in a litte more than 3 hours, giving them not much time to find Wade and Mallory before they leave.

Mallory is soon taken down a hallway in the building, where a woman tells him to enter another room so an agent can chat with him. Mallory is confused, asking why he couldn't have stayed in the room he was in; the woman doesn't say anything and Mallory enters into the room. As he looks around, he notices a mirror and he heads to it, yelling out that he didn't know anything and wanted to be let go. Behind the mirror, sat a couple agents watching Mallory. The woman enters, stating that the man must be really secretive if he doesn't want to say anything. One of the male agents sitting, states that maybe they should consider threatening his life or even inject him with a viral agent that would kill him. The other agent states that the injection idea would work, and just let him go, since the virus would attack his insides and he would be dead within a couple of hours.

Back at the beach, the three meet up with Nick, who is exiting his tent again, telling the three he is shocked to see them, since he thought they left him for good, but they couldn't enter, since he had company. Joel asks Nick if he knew anything about the secret service and what they do with people. Nick tells the three that the secret service are so quiet, people barely know they exist. The agents can do what they want with people; like if they wanted to kill someone to keep a secret, they would kill them. Diana breaks into the conversation, stating that it could already be too late for their friends. Nick states that he has heard of people surviving, but they aren't the same person when they return to societ. Ryan asks Nick if he knew anything about where the agents camp out; Nick states that he didn't and apologizes for it, but he did have a friend who may be of help. Nick returns inside his tent and then back outside to give the sliders a business card, stating that they would need to knock first, because his friend was quite easily excited to fire his gun when unsuspected people showed up. The three take off, but when they get near the highway, they notice agents arriving not far from their location, so they decide to head for the water and swim to another part of the beach.

With a couple of hours passing, the three manage to find Nick's friend outside of the city, living in a dumpy apartment building. They locate the apartment of the man, and Joel knocks on the door, but there is on answer. Ryan decides to try with pounding on the door, yet they still don't get a response. Diana then tries the door knob, with her slowing opening it, making sure they weren't shot. The three get inside of the apartment to find everything destroyed or thrown around. Diana states she would check an adjacent room, and as she enters, she stops, shocked of what she has discovered. Joel and Ryan join her, with them seeing a man in a chair with a carving knife jammed into his head. Joel figures that the government could be after them, and they could already be heading into a dangerous trap. Ryan suggests that maybe they should just slide off, and return with help, sending the government to their knees. Diana tells Ryan that the idea couldn't work, since she is starting to think that people who are unknown to sliding, could consider them crazy and lock them up in a mental institution for saying anything about it, or they could all get killed which is bound to happen here if they aren't all careful.

As Mallory is lead into a room at the undisclosed location, he is forced into a chair where he is hooked up to see images of killing people and the message is to get him to kill his friends, and then kill himself. After Mallory is finished with his brainwash, he is dropped off at the same beach the sliders were dropped off earlier at with the driver handing him a gun and telling him to complete his mission or he would be a disgrace to society. Mallory tells the driver he would complete his mission and then kill himself to prove to his country he was a hero.

Diana, Joel and Ryan take a taxi back to the beach and decide to return to see Nick. As they are trying to find the right tent, Mallory soon arrives nearby, yelling out to the three to wait for him. Diana feels a bit of relief, bu then notices Mallory holding a gun; Diana tells Joel adn Ryan to run, since Mallory was about to shoot them. Mallory aims his weapon at the three, but misses them. The three run as fast as they can, but they soon stop by under the pier. Joel states that they can't keep running, or Mallory would surely kill them. Ryan finds board nearby and they can see Mallory approaching them. As they hide in the darkness, Mallory arrives, slowing down and stating that he was there to help them since he escaped the government and was ready to go home. Ryan comes out of the darkness and whacks Mallory in the face, who is knocked down and Joel grabs his gun. Mallory for some reason doesn't get up, but the three decide to keep moving. As they manage to get onto the pier, they slow down, with Diana pulling out the timer, and putting it back in her pocket to tell the others they slide in 45 minutes. Joel finds a dumpster and tosses the gun into it; Joel tells the two that they really might have to move on without Mallory and Wade, because they both were obviously already gone.

With the sun starting to go down, the three are now walking through a wooded area, just north of the beach, trying to get away from the government and even Mallory. A police car soon stops the three as it stops in front of them, but the sliders take off, running into the woods faster. The officer exits the car, going in pursuit of the trio while firing his gun. The three manage to get behind a large tree to hide, but the officer gets too close, with him seeing them and he points his gun at the three, stating to come toward him very slowly with their hands up. The trio listen to the officer and when they get close enough, the officer tells them he has been searching for them the entire day, hoping to get a catch. Ryan states they didn't do anything wrong and want to know why they were being taken into custody. The officer laughs a bit, stating that he wasn't stupid, since he would recognize them anywhere from the news video about aliens coming into the planet, but now the government can deal with them and no one will worry anymore. The officer tells the three to walk in front of him and head to the police vehicle so they can be arrested and then taken to the police station to wait for someone to pick them up. The three sliders look at each other, with Ryan attacking the officer, knocking him and the gun to the ground, and telling Diana and Joel to get moving, and he would soon follow. The two struggle as they fight; the officer reaches for his gun, but Ryan kicks it beyond the officer's reach. When the officer manages to get to his feet, Ryan pushes him into a tree, causing the officer to hit his head and falling down. Ryan quickly takes off to join his friends not far from him. Diana and Joel stop far enough away to be clear from harms way as the timer counts down from 10 seconds.

The officer gets to his gun and starts firing his weapon, missing the group as Diana and Joel hide behind a tree; Ryan manages to dodge the bullets, but as he gets closer to the two, he gets shot in the back of the head, dropping dead in front of his friends, with the officer continuing his pursuit on the other two. Diana screams out and begins to cry and then Joel takes the timer, quickly opens the gateway and he pushes Diana in with them sliding off to another earth. The officer arrives at the wormhole's location, but he is shocked not to find Diana and Joel and looks at Ryan as the vortex closes seconds after.

The red colored vortex opens in an old fashioned type laboratory with the two sliders being dropped out onto the floor. The vortex closes, with Joel standing up and helping Diana do the same. Diana continues to cry, stating she never saw such a scene, and can't believe that world took their friends away. Joel comforts Diana with him putting his arms around her, and stating things would be okay, and they could make it. The door to the lab opens, with a woman entering and looking at the sliders. She tells the two she is glad to see the well known sliders finally arrived so she could help them in any way.
